To all cadets, parents and guardians:
The intent for the tallship level 2 overnight sail training was for two (2) tallship vessels to be operated by Brigs out of Hamilton, Ontario. One of the vessels to be crewed by an all female cadet crew, the other by an all male cadet crew.
We have received a disappointing update through Brigs that one of the tallships has not yet received the clearance to sail by Transport Canada. Despite careful planning and coordination, this unfortunately means that only (1) tallship vessel is available for sailing this weekend.
RCSCC Illustrious (139 Sea) staff have had to make the difficult decision to proceed with tallship sailing this weekend for (1) tallship vessel only:
- This weekend (17-18 Jun 2023), Tallship Level 2 sailing is available only to male cadets
- Please refer to cadet list (Announcement below)
- Tallship Level 2 overnight sailing is now shifting and being planned for an all female cadet crew in September 2023
Staff understand this is disappointing news and would like to extend our deep apologies due to change in circumstances to cadets and their families. We do remain pleased to be able to continue to offer tallship sailing this weekend and for another tallship sailing weekend in September 2023.
